Allen County, OH, was very good to me in the past when finding information about my husband's MCCLURE family. His great grandfather, William MCCLURE, was born in Allen County, OH, in 1833. I would be willing to share my MCCLURE information with others.

Looking for the death of LILLIE R. (MILLER) KENNEDY b- 1867 Allen Co. and married John McClure KENNEDY in 1885 Van Wert Co., They were found in the 1920 census Allen Co. John died in Akron in 1945 but no trace of Lillie. Children- James, Karl C., Miller, Mary E., Frieda, Leroy, Clifton, and Inez Lillie.

I am researching the name of ALTSTAETTER. My line begins with Joahnn Leonhard ALTSTAETTER, who was born in 1729 in Germany. He married Susanna HEUSEL. Coy was born in Allen County in 1890, and died in Kenton, Hardin County, Ohio, in 1919, during the influenza pandemic. He was married to Lessie Clio PACKER. I am researching Andrew J. SNELL in the 1880 census for Allen County Ohio he was 23, his wife was Nancy she was 25, one child listed Emily Jane age 1. A Henry SNELL age 18 born in Va was also listed. Maybe a brother to Andrew. Thye later must have moved to Paulding county that is where I believe they are buried . Emily also married a Harry HINSCH there in 1899. Other names I am researching are OBERLIN, SNELL , HINSCH, OLIM and BLUS.

I am trying to find out about Henry G. WEIN who lived in Lima in 1862. I have a diary which he wrote during that year when he was 23 years old. He worked in a general or dry goods store at that time. He was originally from Berks Co. PA where he was born in 1839. I would like to find out if he continued to live in Lima and if so are there any records of his death or marriage? Thank you.

Eugene Jacob BARR, b. 21 September 1857, Ohio, was the son of Tobias BARR of Clark/Champaign Counties, Ohio, and Margaret (WEAVER). He was an MD and settled in Allen County in 1885. He was elected the Sheriff of Allen County in 1901. He had a son Ortha, b. 24 Feb 1879, by his first wife, Sarah MICHAEL, of Clark/Champaign Counties, and a daughter Mabel, b. ca 1887, by his second wife, Mattie A. MILLER. He is found in 1910 census living with his dau Mabel, and son-in-law, Vernon MCCOY. When did he die and where is he buried? Thanks.

Louisa then married William COOK on 9-17-1860 in Dayton,Ohio. They had the following children all born in Lima,Allen Co.,Ohio. 1. James Cook b.9-8-1861 2. Ellen Barbara Cook b.12-28-1862 3. Sarah Jane Cook b.1-23-1864 4. Elizabeth Belle Cook b.11-3-1865 5. Ruth Cook (my grandmother) b.6-1-1867 6. Eliza Ann Cook b.6-8-1869 7. Alfred Cook b.10-5-1871 8. George Washington Cook b. 2-22-1873 9. Charles H Cook b. 6-15-1877 10. Ephreim A Cook b.9-20-1879 11. Jesse Cook b.12-13-1881 12. Minnie Susan Cook b. 8-25-1884. I would like to learn anything I can about any of this family, but most of all louisa funk COOK. Family tells me her parents and one sister drowned and she and two brothers lived. She may have lived with other Funks in the area. Any information would be welcome.

CHENOWETH [Osborn, Franklin, Martindale, Hanthorn, Mumaugh and others William S. Chenoweth moved from Frederick Co., VA to Warren Co., OH, then to Allen County where he died in 1838 living a will that named all his children by 1st wife, Catherine RINKER, who died in VA and second wife Ann ?. What was Ann's maiden name? Was she the daughter of John and Ellinor MCCOOL and first married to a Lewis before she married William? Ann is living in Bath Twp. in the 1840 census. What happened to her--where is she buried or did she remarry? Rosella Vohs, GT., Gt., Gt., Gt. granddaughter of William S. Chenoweth and first wife, Catherine Rinker.
