My grandmother was Lydia May HELWIG, born 7, March 1901, married Max WILLS , 7 March 1920 or 1921. Divorced Max but, remarried him, do not have that date. Her parents; Father: Wilhelm Adam HELWIG, born 31 January 1875. Moved to Lima in 1900. Mother: Lousie Mae HELWIG,born in 1881. Grandparents: Adam HELWIG, born 3 June 1846, married 7 March 1872 in New Bremen, Ohio. Died 17 December 1937 in Lima, Ohio. Anna L. SCHROEDER, born 1849 i Bremen, Germany. Moved from New Bremen, Ohio to Lima in 1896. Died 19 June 1932 in Lima, Ohio. Great Grandparents: George HELWIG, born 1814 - 1820, married prior to 1839, 6 July 1849 in New Bremen, Ohio. Anna Marie FISCHBACH, born 5 August 1818 in Sodern, Bayer (Rhineland Pfalz), Germany, died 30 March 1887 in New Bremen, Ohio. Her second husband was, George Phillip GRESS. Here are other surnames who are in the HELWIG link including: GUNTHER~BOOGHER~BOURQUIN~SCHULENBERG ~LEORA ~SCHOUPE~LEE There are others of course but, these are the main surnames. Any help in finding information from the census or city directories or anywere else would be so greatly appreciated. I do believe they were all from the Protestant faith.

Am looking for information on George W. MILLER b. 1846 (?) in Ohio. He married Caroline Elizabeth RUPERT, b. 1857 Spencer Twp., Allen Co., OH and died in Decatur IN., on 4/17/1876 in Allen County. They moved to Van Wert Co., Ohio, and had 10 children: William Ira, Ralph, Frances, Howard, Wilson, Lewis, Della, Lucille, Mary, and Pirl. William Ira married Gracie C.A. Weaver and moved to Michigan where they had 14 children. Any information would be more than welcome--and I, of course, am willing to share what I have.

My given name is STEVEN HERBERT WHITE, I was born in Lima, Ohio, 29 November 1949. My birth father was HERBERT CLARENCE WHITE. I have no information on him, his whereabouts or his family. I believe the WHITE family has been in Lima for a good number of years prior to my birth. I believe his father was CLARENCE HERBERT WHITE and his mother was a DEACON, or DEAKYNE ? PARENT, WISE: I am trying to find my grandmother's family. Her name was Anna M WISE, born September 24, 1887, in Richland TWP, Shelby County, Ohio, died November 03, 1923 and was buried at ? maybe Allentown Cemetery, Lima, Allen Co., OH along with my grandfather Chester P PARENT who died May 24, 1929 and was buried at Allentown Cemetery, Lima, OH. They both died when my father was a child and he was raised by relatives. Some connecting names could be FRIES and SHERMAN.

Harry JOHNSON married Sarah Salomah MARKERT (maiden name) Moore (possible first married name) on April 16, 1917. Sarah was the daughter of Daniel MARKERT, and she was born in Illinois on December 14, 1885. Harry and Sarah lived mostly in Cumberland County, Illinois. He may be from Miller City, Ohio or Lima, OH, and they may have married in Lima, Ohio. Harry is the son of William and Catheryn PILGER JOHNSON, born September 14, 1888. When he died on February 7, 1963, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL, two sisters and a brother survived him: Mrs. Daisey KING and Mrs. Orpha HENRY, both of Lima, Ohio, and Edward, of Chilicothe, Ohio. Listed in 1875 Allen County, Ohio Business References for Elida: Retired merchant and ex-justice of the peace. Parents, Elias and Elizabeth RHODES Leist, buried Tarlton Cemetery, Pickaway County. Sister, Elizabeth, married Andrew Jackson COLLINS, 1861, Pickaway County, moved to Kansas in 1868. Would like to know whether he took a wife and, if so, the details of his marriage. Also, the date of his death and the location of the cemetery where he is buried.

Thomas PHILIPS b 1821 Lancashire England emigrated to the US by 1847. In Ohio by 1872 Shawnee township, Allen county. Worked as superintendent of Shawnee Coal Mines. Possibly son of Thomas PHILIPS b 1781 Lancashire Eng and Harriett. Siblings: Eliza b 1827; Richard 1827; William and James.
